Marriage Therapists Take Note

January is known as “divorce month” in legal circles. It is the time of year when couples contemplating divorce decide that post holidays would be the best time to do it. Social media confirms the activity. According to Google Trends, the topic of divorce peaks the week of January 6-12. On Pinterest, queries concerning divorce rose an average of 21 percent from December to January. A Note of Interest: marriages and divorces are on the decline. Almost 50 percent of all marriages in the United States will end in divorce or separation. Researchers estimate that 41 percent of all first marriages end in divorce. Happy New Year!
